Vice-President Innovation, SirsiDynix

spoke in Hobart on Monday 8th September 2008,

at Stanley Burbury Theatre

University of Tasmania, Churchill Avenue, Sandy Bay

Stephen  talked about the future of the web and how individuals and

communities  interact and the complexities of the information

landscape in the 21st century. “If we view Web 2.0 things as just

a foundation  for the beginnings of the information and knowledge

economy, what is the role of libraries? If a socially driven web is

already here and its transformational potential is huge, what are

the skills  and competencies that Library Staff Web 3.0 will need?”

A podcast of Stephen Abram’s public lecture,

“Knowledge, information and the 21st century”

is now available for download or streaming via the UTAS Library blog
